After going 8-1 during the regular season, the boys football team wanted to make sure they started off playoffs right by doing something that would make them stand out, and it sure did. This time, it wasn’t changing the way they played, it was how they looked while they were playing. This season for playoffs, our varisty football team decided to bleach their hair. This was just another way out of many ways to show how dedicated Team 55 is this season and how much this means to them. Walking around in public without your teammates and bleached hair may not be the most comfortable feeling but it doesn’t seem to bother any of them. This may have started a tradition for the upcoming teams going into the playoffs. “I like the idea of the boys dying their hair, it makes them look good as a whole. It is good for the team,” said marketing teacher, Mrs. Patterson.

The majority of the team had dyed their hair blonde. “We did it to sacrifice how we look as a team,” said senior, Vince Buccilli. With the team having their hair dyed, it makes them look more of a whole instead of an individual playing for themselves. Adam Schihl had came up with the idea for the team to dye each others hair before the start of play offs. This had also seemed to get the team a bit closer as they all got together outside of school and practice to bleach one another’s hair with the help of a few mothers.

The dye seems to be working. The boys crushed Warren Mott with a final score of 42-6 and they will be facing our rival, the Dakota Cougars, yet again, on Friday, November 3rd for the District Championship.
