Chippewa Valley High School Senior, Kaitlyn Popa, has been a part of the JV softball team throughout her high school career. She has loved every minute of being on a field ever since she was a kid.

Popa was on a little league softball team when she was younger. Ever since she was on little league she fell in love with kids and being able to have fun on then field.

Popa began to play softball when she was in second grade and had been playing ever since, making that now 11 years.

Popa joined the school softball team as a Freshman, jumping straight into Junior Varisty. Now 4 years later, as a senior, Popa continues to go on strong and continues to play for the JV softball team.

Popa states that playing softball has “made me a stronger person and has surrounded me with amazing friends, that I will have for a lifetime”. Popa doesn’t regret being on the team and would never change the way her softball career worked out.

Popa continues to love playing softball and couldn’t imagine her life without it. When asked what other sport she would play if softball didn’t exist, she expressed that she would “ do nothing because I would have to invent the sport myself.”

If it wasn’t for her courage to try out for softball and being in love with the sport when she was younger, she would be a completely different person and wouldn’t know who she would be now.

Popa is very thankful she’s gotten the opportunity to play softball for the school team. She says it has made her ”more determined to play, harder, smarter, and better each time I play.”

Popa is excited to see where her softball career will take her and hopes that her future life still has softball as a major part of it.
