Memorial Day is a time to appreciate veterans who have served or are serving for our country. However, Memorial Day can also be a time to hang out with friends on an extended weekend getaway. Whether it’s going to the movies or out on a day-cation to Frankenmuth, no one should be bored this Memorial Day!

  1. Go to the movies: Something as simple as a trip to the movies can always make for a fun time. Here are some movies that are currently playing:
  • Pirate of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
  • Baywatch
  • Alien: Covenant
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2
  • Everything, Everything
  • Snatched
  • Kind Arthur: Legend of the Sword
  • The Fate of the Furious
  • Beauty and the Beast
  1. Stony Creek:If you haven’t checked out the new zip-line adventure park at Stony Creek now is the time to go!  The highest platform is said to be 50 feet high and the longest zip-line is said to be 609 feet long. The entire zip-line is a total of 2970 feet in diameter! Here’s the prices for each age group:
  • Baboon (ages 10-15): $38
  • Orangutan (ages 16-17): $58
  • Gorilla (18+): $58

  1. Frankenmuth: Don’t know of a place to stop and have dinner? Frankenmuth’s world famous chicken dinners are always a great option. You can also check out the Bavarian Belle Riverboat, Bronner’s, The Frankenmuth Historical Museum, and even a Mirror Maze!
  2. Explore A Nature Trail: Spend an afternoon with your friends enjoying nature. Take a walk or a bike ride through George George Park, Dodge Park, or even Riverbend Park. If traveling to Dodge Park, you can stop at Erma’s for ice cream which is right next door!

  1. Zoo Trip: What better way to get out and get moving then to go to the zoo! The Detroit Zoo and the Toledo Zoo are two great places to spend with some of the world’s coolest animals.

  1. Dave & Busters: If you’re not into going outdoors as much, you can hop over to the Dave & Busters arcade. For $10 you can get 48 chips and for $20 you can get 100 chips. Pay $35 and you can even get 250 chips to play all the games you like!

  1. Museum: Another way to stay indoors but still have an enjoyable time would be to check out the Henry Ford Museum. If the weather is nice, you can also walk over to Green Field Village to see the historical town.

  1. Travel Downtown: Whether it’s downtown Rochester, or downtown Mount Clements, enjoy the city life with your crew. Travel to Downtown Detroit and check out many dining options such as Andiamo’s, Fishbone’s, Texas de Brazil, Republic, Savannahblue, Townhouse, and many more!
